With the introduction of the BMW service history, the paper service book is replaced by an electronic one. Information about vehicle maintenance is stored centrally on the BMW AG server and copied to the vehicle. The information about the passed services is stored in a separate file which lies in the multimedia head unit HU (CIC NBT NBTevo, etc.) The electronic service book can be displayed on the CID display. Viewing the e-service book is only possible on vehicles with a CID.
It's used to edit iDrive information, like history and the date.
