Description :
BMW Remote CodingDue to popular demand, SFBMWcoding is now proudly offering BMW remote coding services within the USA and abroad. For the past few years, SFBMWcoding has purposely limited its experienced and professional BMW coding services to the local San Francisco Bay area in order to build upon quality, customer service, and professionalism. We have built SFBMWcoding locally with huge support from both our customers and partnerships with independent shops and local BMW dealership staff.
We now offer our BMW coding service to be experienced in the comfort of your very own home.
How is BMW remote coding different from coding locally?
One of the main pillars of our ethos at SFBMWcoding is not just to provide a feature set which enhances your vehicle, but to provide an experience which allows the customer to fully understand the features coded, feel comfortable with the work being done, and leave feeling completely secure knowing the vehicle coding was done correctly and efficiently. Coding in person allows this exchange to take place, it even enhances the continuity of support for future questions or concerns, and allows for an enhanced coding experience. Coding remotely, alters this paradigm and reduces the human variable with an emphasis on convenience instead. In many cases, this is the only option – BMW remote coding, and not a choice. In many cases, there are just no experienced local coders who are available to work on your BMW. With remote coding at SFBMWcoding, we still strive to maintain the level of customer satisfaction which has been so central to our ethos and hope to provide the same experience as coding locally, despite not being there in person. Coding a BMW locally vs coding a BMW remotely (and through the internet) involves the same hardware – You will need a compatible windows laptop (with a USB port, or Ethernet port depending on which chassis we feature code), and a coding cable (which uses either a USB or Ethernet port). The biggest difference between coding locally, is that coding your BMW remotely will require an internet connection which your laptop can connect with to be available, as this is the medium through which we control your Laptop as if we were using it locally.
What is involved with coding a BMW remotely?
Despite being miles apart, coding remotely involves a few other logistical issues such as having a working windows laptop environment, the correct coding cable, your own vehicle battery charger (if flashing modules), and coordinating a schedule which works for both parties (especially if the client is international). Once all three things are situated and readily available, having your vehicle coded remotely is as easy as connecting to your internet connection, plugging in the required cable, and letting us do the rest.
What does SFBMWcoding do when coding my BMW through the internet?
SFBMWcoding will connect to your laptop, download and install the required software components/files, and configure the cable interface to fully work with the BMW standard tools software coding suite.
How does payment work when selecting remote coding for my BMW?
Our remote coding charges and fees are based on the BMW chassis you own. The options are below (both are paid in full before cable is shipped. If international, additional shipping charges apply.):
Is there a way to code my F series BMW without needing to install E-SYS locally on my machine?
Yes, there is a method for having your internet router used just as an administrative router bridge for a network connection from our computers to your vehicle. However, there is a latency requirement which must be met for error free coding to take place. Any latency longer than the maximum will break the connection and cause coding to fail. Since network congestion varies depending on location and quality of internet service (especially internationally), we only offer remote coding by downloading the software to your local laptop in order to simulate a local coding environment.
After SFBMWcoding finishes the remote coding on my vehicle, can I then use the software and cable to code my own vehicle?
Yes, and we encourage you to do so. If you opt to leave the software installed on your laptop, its yours to use from that point forward. What better way is there to fully enjoy your vehicle than to configure it in a way that you want, whenever you want.
What happens if during the remote coding session, we are disconnected?
In the rare case that a prolonged period of internet downtime is experienced, the BMW remote coding session will need to be rescheduled for a later date.
